The Difference: There are two main differences between Chicago Digital Music and other music websites. The first is obvious; CDM is an all encompassing website.  Chicago Digital Music is not just a resource for bands. It is also a resource venues, labels, music stores, and fans. Due to the fact that we have created a website aimed at so many people, CDM stops becoming a resource and starts becoming a social network. Bands talk to venues, labels talk to bands, music stores talk to other music stores, and inter-website friendships are created. The second and more important difference is Chicago Digital Music’s customer service. At CDM we do everything we can to get to know our music family. One way we do this is by not making bands update their own pages, we do it for them. The reason for this is two fold; first it is easier for a band to just send an e-mail to our Public Relations guy and have him take care of the updates then for the band to take time out of their schedule to do it. Second, when we get an e-mail for an update, whether it is a new song to put up, or new show dates to add, it allows us to stay in touch with what our bands our doing, and thus we can better know who is on our website. All update requests are taken care of within 3 business days of the request and a confirmation e-mail is always sent out telling the band when their update has been added. As stated before, CDM is here to make the Chicago music scene easier, and things are certainly easier when you like and understand the people your dealing with. 

The Future: Chicago Digital Music is still a fairly new site, with a lot of potential to grow.
