Descarga is comprised of 1st generation Mexican-American who's heritage have given them the ability to pull from diverse sources of music, making their unique "Ramones meets Nirvana at a cantina" sound, a unique one.
[.DESCARGA.] is proud to be a member of Chicago's growing rock-en-español community. Their involvement includes performing free shows dealing with community issues, including fund raisers for: United Farmworkers, Cesar Chavez Multicultural Academic Center, La Huelga on 31st Street for La Villita High School, Casa Aztlan, E>N>E TV Show, Pilsen Cultural Celebration and various other cultural fundraising events.
[.DESCARGA.] has also participated in such important events as MOBfest, Fiesta Del Sol, Jaguarton (Ciudad Juarez, Mexico), the first ever all latin independent rock showcase at Chicago’s Double Door and consequently the first ever rock en Español showcase at world famous Old Town School of Folk Music. They were also chosen as the only latin rock band to participate in Chicago Tribune’s Red Eye Newspaper and Metromix.com’s Rock’n’Vote concert at Metro. [.DESCARGA.] have also been included on various compilation CD’s including MOBfest 2002 and BOOM Magazine's Summer 2005 Edition. Additionally, they have shared the stage with such acts as La Cuca, Lucybell, Victimas del Dr. Cerebro, Leprosy, Genitallica, Real de Catorce and Cecilia Toussaint among others.
